An Inverness hotel and restaurant is offering free tea and coffee for its elderly locals.

MacIntosh Restaurant and Takeaway, based inside Crown Court Hotel on Southside Road, will be opening its doors to people from 12pm daily.

Restaurant manager, Alison Keith said: “With winter fuel allowance cuts affecting many in our community, we want to do our part to make sure everyone stays warm and comfortable this season.

“So, we’re inviting all elderly locals to join us for free tea or coffee at our bar – no charge, no obligation, just a warm place to relax and enjoy a hot drink.

“We understand with the inflation and price increase people are struggling, so it would be good to offer a nice place with a bit of heat and a nice meeting spot for people who live on their own.”

The restaurant has also just had a revamp so it gives people the opportunity to see this too.

Ms Keith added: “Come by, bring a friend, and let’s share some warmth this winter!”
