Drakies Primary School in Inverness hosts online assemblies to help maintain a sense of continuity during coronavirus pandemic
During the Covid-19 outbreak one Inverness primary school has found an ingenious way of carrying on assemblies.
Drakies Primary has posted its first online assembly via the Youtube website to help maintain routine and contact with pupils while the school is closed during the lockdown.
The 20-minute video covered the school's values and organisers are hoping it will become a regular event.
Pupils were treated to a welcome song which was normally sung at school and headteacher Scott Callander's front room stood in as a temporary assembly hall.
There were shout outs to pupils who had done memorable things as well as messages from teachers and a progress report showing which school house had gained the most points.
It also featured a quote of the week, from American poet Maya Angelou, and a video which highlighted the importance of kindness.
They have received messages of support including a tweet from Raigmore Primary School which read: "Fantastic assembly. Great job neighbours."
