INVERNESS PICTURE FLASHBACK: Aliens on the loose at Ness Islands, Halloween 2019

As Halloween approaches, we are featuring this photograph of a scary group of characters five years ago.

It was taken during the Halloween Show on Ness Islands in Inverness - a popular free event for families and a showcase for the talents of the many young performers.

It was taken by Highland News & Media photographer Gary Anthony and forms part of an online retrospective series, Behind The Lens: The Legacy of a Highland news photographer.

It is being run by the Inverness Courier in tribute to Gary who died in August 2023, aged 58.

As the man behind the lens, Gary captured moments of history in the making, recorded people's triumphs and tragedies and observed day-to-day life.
