Inverness Parkrun set to return this weekend with new name as Torvean Parkrun
Inverness Parkrun is due to return on Saturday with a new name and a new venue.
The event will now be known as Torvean Parkrun and the course will be at the new park beside the canal.
The first event will take place on Saturday at 9.30am. Details and results will be posted at the new webpage, www.parkrun.org.uk/torvean and social media channels will be updated to reflect the new name in due course.
There were 432 events at the previous Inverness Parkrun – which was officially held at Bught Park but regularly shifted to Whin Park for various reasons.
It was forced to stop at the start of the pandemic in March last year and Saturday's free 5k walk/run will be the first in Inverness for 17 months.
Participants must register via the website in advance and print out a barcode in order to take part.
