AN Inverness man fell out with his best friend and sent him a text message threatening to harm him.

Andrew Smyth (31), of Lochalsh Court, admitted threatening or abusive behaviour which occurred in his flat in the early morning of February 23.

Defence solicitor Gary Miller told Inverness Sheriff Court: “They were like brothers but it all changed when his relationship with his partner broke down.

“There then seemed to be a string of false allegations and malicious messages about him and he snapped.”

Smyth was fined £335.
