Inverness house fire being treated as ‘wilful’ by police as inquiries continue

A fire which badly damaged a house in Inverness is being treated by the poiice as ‘wilful’ as their inquiries continue.

Emergency services were called to the blaze in Evan Barron Road, Hilton, on Friday night.

Firefighters from Inverness, Beauly and Fortrose tackled the fire which was reported to be out just before midnight.

Yesterday, police officers still had a presence at the end-of-terrace property.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said today: “Around 8.50pm on Friday, 20 December, 2024, we were called to a report of a fire at a property in the Evan Barron Road area of Inverness.

“Officers attended to assist the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and the fire was extinguished.

“Inquiries are ongoing and the fire is being treated as wilful.”
