Highland print studio re-launches ‘Wise Guys’ printmaking classes for men aged 60+
An Inverness-based print studio is set to host a series of free workshops aimed at men over 60.
Highland Print Studio on Bank Street is about to relaunch its popular Wise Guys classes.
Through a series of weekly workshops, participants can learn new techniques and get hands-on with the Studio’s equipment and presses and will be able to learn at their own pace in a relaxed, friendly and supportive environment.
The course is taught by artists with lots of experience teaching people with no artistic experience - with additional support offered by a mentors from past Wise Guy classes.
Alison McMenemy, director at Highland Print Studio commented: “I’m really delighted to be relaunching our Wise Guys project because it never fails to bring in people with such a variety of life experiences and it’s always quality chat at tea break!”
“To potential Wise Guys - maybe the last time you picked up a pencil was at school; it doesn’t matter because there are so many different ways to create an image.”
The initiative, supported through the Highland Council Inverness Central Ward Discretionary Fund, is free to participants and is open to men in the Inverness Central area.
