A DESIGN graduate’s cushion piece has been included in a “hall of fame” list.

Invernessian Catherine MacGruer’s Maria teal cushion has made Heal’s list – which recognises the 100 pieces which have been or are still sold at Heal’s landmark Tottenham Court Road store.

The list, curated by interiors specialist Magnus Englund, features iconic designs from names such as Charles and Ray Eames, Arne Jacobsen and Philippe Starck, as well as specially sourced vintage items sold at Heal’s during the 20th century.

Miss MacGruer (26) graduated from the Glasgow School of Art in 2014 and its head of fashion and textiles, Jimmy Stephen-Cran, said: “We were delighted to hear that Catherine’s Maria teal cushion, which was part of her degree show collection, had been selected to be stocked by Heal’s.

“It is an even greater accolade for her work to be included alongside some of the leading names in 20th and 21st century design.”

Miss MacGruer received a BA in Textile Design (knit) upon graduation before returning to Inverness and opening a studio in Old Edinburgh Road.
