Inverness Crazy Golf loses cash in overnight break-in but culprit might be caught on CCTV
The operator of an Inverness attraction said they are appalled after the premises were broken into and money stolen.
The Crazy Golf at Bught was targeted overnight on Monday into Tuesday with CCTV showing a masked andperson believed to be a man, at the premises around 2.20am.
Proprietor Gus MacDonald said today (Tuesday May 28): “This was a brazen and very determined theft, because the very loud alarm was activated and although we had the charity box bolted to the counter, he managed to prise the lid open.
“Thankfully our charity box gets emptied of notes every evening so he only got about £20 in coins from there. We will personally replace that ourselves.
“However he got the till float of about £120.
“We are appalled and raging. If anyone has any info please get in touch.”
Mr MacDonald, who has run the business for eight years, said the charity box was for contributions towards the “Golfathon” he is doing later this summer - playing crazy golf for 24 hours.
He added: “It’s to raise money for 24 charities and I’ve invited local teams to donate £100 become involved by helping me out by playing for an hour during my effort.”
