Inverness Classic Vehicle Show set to take over city centre next week

An annual celebration for classic motor loversand families is coming back to Inverness next weekend.

The Inverness Classic Vehicle Show will take place on Saturday, May 18 in the city centre and will see more than 160 vehicles showcased on Church Street (upper and lower), High Street, Inglis Street, Falcon Square, Drummond and Lombard Street.

Among them will be a rare 1968 Hillman Imp, an Austin 7 dating back to 1933, the1963 MacBrayne’s bus which was originally used mainly on the Foyers to Inverness service during the 1960’s/early seventies and a range of ex-military vehicles – including a tank – to name a few.

The Highland Archive Centre will also take part with a display of photos of old vehicles from the area near the Falcon entrance of Eastgate Shopping Centre.

The shopping centre will also host entertainment and childrens face painting, and the Victorian Market will have live music providing entertainment for all.

A parade of the vehicles will start at 3pm, proceeding down High Street led by the City of Inverness Youth Pipe Band.
