Inverness city centre traffic lights set to be switched back on after over 48 hours of works by Scottish and Southern Energy Networks (SSEN)
Repairs on a damaged power cable that left a major Inverness city centre crossing without traffic lights are almost complete.
Energy giant SSEN is currently completing work on Ness Bridge which left the junction with Castle Road without power for over 48 hours.
The firm’s teams have completed the repair works on the cable and are currently back-filling the excavation on the bridge’s northern footpath, which is expected to be complete by late afternoon.- we expect to have this finished by the end of this afternoon.
An SSEN spokeswoman said: “Once our teams are finished on site, the traffic management team will start work on returning the road to full use and then the council will switch the traffic lights back on.
“We’d like to thank everyone for their patience as our teams worked hard to carry out the necessary repairs to our underground cable as safely and as quickly as possible.”
