Traffic lights on an Inverness city centre street are currently switched off.

The set of lights at Queensgate have been out of operation since Saturday and engineers are on site today.

A Highland Council spokesperson said: “Our out-of-hours standby engineers received a call Saturday morning that the lights at Queensgate were not operating correctly.

“We were unable to carry out a permanent repair at the time so switched off the lights to allow a free flow of traffic through the city centre. Our engineers are back in attendance this morning and all going well will have the lights back in operation shortly”.
