Inverness Christmas lights switch-on to include performance by recently-crowned Ness Factor winner
Recently-crowned Ness Factor winner Kay-Lisa Davidson will join Santa and others for a festive lights switch-on in Inverness later this month.
The event in the city’s Falcon Square on Sunday November 24 at 4pm is being organised by Highland Hospice in partnership with Eastgate Shopping Centre.

The charity will light the hospice’s Christmas tree lights, along with the city centre lights, following a half-hour programme of entertainment provided by various acts.
It includes a performance by Ms Davidson, a 49-year-old Inverness health visitor who wowed the audience at the charity singing contest in aid of the hospice held at the city’s Drumossie Hotel last month.
There will also be entertainment from See Chelle’s characters Elsa and Anna while the lights will be switched on by Santa.
Nicola McAlley, of STV, will host the event.
Highland Hospice fundraiser Carrie Macdonald hoped lots of families will join them.
“We are so grateful to Eastgate Shopping Centre for partnering with us to provide this fabulous event,” she said.
The lights switch-on rounds off a special day for Eastgate where Moray Markets will be trading, the stores themselves will be full of festive offerings and Cairngorm Reindeer will be in Falcon Square between 11am and 2pm.
The Falcon Square tree is one of three in Inverness as part of the Hospice’s annual Light up the Highlands campaign.
Another will be placed within the Hospice’s In the City Cafe and Bookshop in the Eastgate Centre, with a third tree outside the hospice’s inpatient unit for patients and visitors to enjoy.
Light up the Highlands invites people to sponsor a tree light, helping Highland Hospice to be a place of comfort and hope for families who need its care this Christmas.
A light can be dedicated specifically in memory of someone who is dearly missed.
“Our Falcon Square tree is integral to Light up the Highlands where we invite people to take time to pause and show compassion to those having a difficult time around Christmas,” Ms Macdonald said. “Sponsoring a tree light is an act of kindness – a way of helping the hospice, remembering someone special, or both.
“This is the sixth year that our Christmas tree will be present in Falcon Square and would like to extend our grateful thanks to Cairngorm Group for supporting the tree, as well as Capstone Construction and Paterson Haulage for putting it up for us.
“We hope that it brings hope, light and cheer to many over the festivities.”
