Inverness-born artist Shaun Fraser unveils his latest exhibition, 'Home', at The Fine Art Society in Edinburgh’s New Town this Friday, November 7.

The exhibition marks a significant collaboration between Fraser and close friend Harry Morgan, a fellow graduate of Edinburgh College of Art and acclaimed glass artist. Together, they explore what it means to belong — reflecting on identity, memory, and the spaces that shape our sense of home.

Rooted in the landscapes of the Scottish Highlands, Fraser’s work examines the deep ties between people and place. Incorporating materials such as peat and local soils, his sculptures transform personal memory into tangible form.

In dialogue with Fraser’s elemental forms, Harry Morgan’s work unites opposites — transparency and opacity, fragility and strength. By fusing materials in unexpected ways, Morgan creates a visual meditation on structure, balance, and the delicate architecture which guides us through life.

The two artists have exhibited together regularly since meeting at Edinburgh College of Art in their late teens, their creative conversation continuing to evolve over the years.

Speaking to the Courier ahead of the opening, Fraser said: “We’re thrilled to be presenting this show ahead of the festive season and to welcome visitors to engage with some stirring new works. Things have been in development for almost two years, so it will be great to see all of it together at last.”

Harry Morgan is a graduate of Edinburgh College of Art and was shortlisted for the prestigious Loewe Prize in 2019.

'Home' opens Friday, November 7 at The Fine Art Society, Edinburgh. The show runs until December 23.
