Colin Craig, who along with his wife Sandie runs Oil and Vinegar in Union Street, replaces Eastgate Shopping Centre boss Jackie Cuddy.

She expressed her intention to stand down at the end of 2019 after nine years in the role and will remain a director.

Mr Craig, who has been in business in Union Street since 2006 and is also a director of Highland Property Search Ltd, said he was honoured to succeed Ms Cuddy.

“Jackie has given tremendous service to BID as vice chairman for the past nine years. There remain real challenges ahead to improve and enhance Inverness city centre, for business, visitors and for the local community.

“BID has an important role to play with other stakeholders in meeting these challenges and I hope to be able to do what I can to assist.”

BID is approaching the start of the third year of its third five-year term.

BID chairman Peter Strachan said: “I would like to thank Jackie for her endless commitment to BID and the city centre which I know will continue as a board member where her energy and expertise are valued.

“Colin comes to the role as a very active board member with first-hand experience of the current retail climate and I look forward to working with him.”
