Highland Council marks International Workers’ Memorial Day by remembering those who have lost their lives to coronavirus

Highland Council will mark International Workers’ Memorial Day tomorrow by observing the national one-minute silence at 11am.

The day aims to remember those who have lost their lives either at work or from work-related injuries and diseases.

This year, International Workers’ Memorial Day also commemorates those who have lost their lives to coronavirus.

While memorial events cannot take place due to Covid-19 – as public gatherings around the world are not advised or allowed – they will still be remembered by individuals while observing social-distancing rules.
