THE manager of the Eastgate Shopping Centre in Inverness has received a prestigious award in recognition of her contribution and inspiration to others in business and the wider community.
Jackie Cuddy was one of 14 recipients of a Women of Inspiration Award presented by the Association of Scottish Business Women.
A special reception was held yesterday – ahead of International Women’s Day – at the Scottish Chambers of Commerce in Glasgow.
The date was a poignant one for Ms Cuddy as it marked the 12th anniversary of a nine-hour operation for breast cancer.
She was nominated by Marie Mackintosh, vice chairwoman of Highland Business Women, who said Ms Cuddy operated at the highest level, serving one of the largest catchment areas in Europe.
As a champion for multiple charities including Archie Foundation Highland and Lunches for Maggies, she has helped to raise more than £200,000.
“Jackie is not only a cancer survivor, she is a warm-hearted elegant lady whose quiet dignity and achievements inspire others to want to work with her,” Ms Mackintosh said.
Ms Cuddy was humbled and honoured to receive the award.
“I am a glass half-full positive individual who believes in partnership working so am delighted if my approach inspires others,” she said.
In her role at the shopping centre, she was inspired to be part of the bigger vision for the city centre and also to use her contacts to help local charities.
