The Eastgate Shopping Centre has created the attraction as part of its free programme of activities during the summer holidays.

Already youngsters are taking up the invitation to build sandcastles and join in beach games.

Shopping centre manager Chris Kershaw said the programme of activities had got off to a good start.

“We have landed the beach this month which has been massively busy so far and looks great,” he said.

“Also our soft play we landed last year continues to be very popular.

“Additional to this, our free kids’ clubs have begun already and will continue throughout the holidays on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

“They kicked off with a great start this week with the Exotic Animals on Tuesday and FITkidz on Wednesday.’”
