Repairs to a collapsed pavement at the entrance of the Victorian Market will start on Sunday.

Contactors will be on site from 8am to 6pm at Market Lane off Church Street.

The lane will be dug up and closed for public access.

There will be no access to the following businesses the Market Bar, Gorgeous Hairdresser, Soul Seeker Yoga Studio and The Malt Room.

A Highland Council spokeswoman said businesses had been notified.

She added: "Depending on the extent of repairs required, works may have to continue on Monday, and if this is the case, the lane will remain closed overnight on Sunday.

"Access to the Malt Room and Soul Seeker Yoga Studio will not be possible until the repair is complete. Access to Gorgeous Hairdressers and the Market Bar can be gained through the Victorian Market from Monday.

"Signage will be displayed to direct customers through the Victorian Market to the Market Bar and Gorgeous Hairdressers for the duration of the works.

"If works are required to continue into Tuesday, the council will inform all affected businesses on Monday.

"The council apologises for these essential works. Anyone with concerns regarding the works should contact the Victorian Market manager Jo Murray via email on jo.murray@highland.gov.uk."
