MORE than 100 people took part in a fundraising walk in Inverness to tackle Alzheimer’s disease.

Participants in the Memory Walk last weekend covered a seven-mile route from Whin Park to Dochgarroch to raise money for Alzheimer Scotland, a charity providing support and information for those living with dementia.

Cycling charity Spokes for Folks was also there to give a lift to people who could not go all the way on foot.

Alzheimer Scotland fundraiser Jules Goodwin said the event had been a great success, with the 143 participants being an increase from previous years.

She added: “A huge thank you to everyone who took part in the Inverness Memory Walk and to all those volunteers who supported us. Every step helps us to improve the lives of people living with dementia.

“The Memory Walk event provides a positive way for communities to get together to walk in honour of someone they care about, or in memory of someone, to help raise vital funds to support the work of Alzheimer Scotland.”
