Husband of woman who died in crash near Forres on A96 pays emotional tribute to loving wife and mother as fundraising efforts continue
The husband of a 27-year-old woman who tragically lost her life in a crash on the A96 last week has shared his heartbreak and paid tribute to a “brilliant wife and mother”.
Paulina Zogota was pronounced dead at the scene of a crash involving a lorry and a car between Forres and Brodie on November 11.
A mum to a seven-year-old boy and the much-loved wife to Edgars Zogota, Paulina’s death has left her family devastated.
Speaking to The Forres Gazette, Edgars said: “She had such a big heart and she was so helpful.
“She would help anybody who needed it.
“When I needed her or the little one needed her she was always there.
“We had a great relationship. We were married for seven years and together for eight.
“She was brilliant. Always there for us and we miss her so much.
“She was like a light in the darkness.
“She loved her son, she loved me and we loved her as well.”
Edgars set up a fundraiser in the aftermath of Paulina’s passing to help fund her repatriation to Poland.
The family say it is their “deepest wish” to bring her home so she can be where her “heart truly belonged”.
A target of £5000 to assist with funeral costs has been set and thanks to a flood of donations, over £3500 has already been raised.
Edgars added: “Any contribution, no matter how small, will mean the world to the family during this heartbreaking time.
“We just want to get her home and we want to do that as soon as we possibly can.”
