Fiscal depute Emily Hood told Sheriff Sara Matheson that officers seized a mobile phone from 35 year old Dean Chester on November 27 last year and after analysis found it contained 63 accessible and 591 inaccessible still images of children being sexually abused or in erotic poses.

There were also 13 accessible videos with a runtime of 44 minutes and 14 inaccessible videos with a runtime of three minutes.

Chester, of Courthouse Lane, Nairn, admitted downloading the obscene material between June 30 and November 26 last year.

Sentence was deferred until November 18 for a background report and an assessment for a sex offenders' rehabilitation programme called Moving Forward to Change.

Chester was immediately placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register.
