WORK on a new hotel in Inverness city centre has prompted changes to some loading and disabled parking bays.

Conversion of the former Highland Council service point building in Church Street into a new four-star 79-bedroom hotel for Patio Hotels Group, which owns the city’s Kingsmills Hotel, will see the contractor will occupy the Church Street loading bay.

A council spokeswoman said: "To accommodate this, three disabled bay spaces next to Lauders in Church Street are being amended for loading only Monday-Saturday from 8am-6pm. Two additional alternative disabled bays are being provided – one in Church Street and one in Union Street."

She added the changes are to allow contractors safe access.

The changes have been made under a temporary traffic restriction order and will be in place until March 1, 2021.
