Inverness hit-and-run sparks Police Scotland appeal to Highland motorists to check their dashcams
Motorists have been urged to check their dashcams for footage of a car involved in a hit-and-run.
The car, a white Honda Civic, failed to stop after colliding with a mobility scooter on Shore Street in Inverness on Thursday.
The incident, which occurred at around 2.45pm, was first reported on Thursday afternoon, but police have now launched an appeal for footage which may help trace the car’s driver..
The male driver of the scooter was checked by paramedics at the scene.
"We are appealing for information following a crash involving a car and a mobility scooter on Shore Street in Inverness," said a police spokesperson.
"The car, a white Honda Civic, failed to stop and enquiries are ongoing to trace the vehicle and the driver.
"Enquiries suggest the car may have left in the direction of Friar’s Bridge.
"Anyone who saw what happened or who has dash-cam footage that could assist is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting 'incident number 1956 of Thursday, January 30'."
