A TEEN girl was hurt in a hit-and-run incident outside Raigmore Hospital.

Police have appealed for witnesses after the girl was hit by a car in the Old Perth Road area of the city at around 1.15pm on Saturday. The teen, aged 15, was treated at the scene and suffered minor injuries.

Officers are looking for any information about the car involved in the incident and are appealing for witnesses.

PC Steve Taylor said: “We are all thankful that this incident didn’t lead to more serious injuries, however it is nonetheless serious given that the driver failed to stop.

“The car has been described as possibly being maroon or purple in colour and left the scene heading towards the town centre.”

“I would ask anyone who may have been in the area and witnessed the incident, or anyone that may have dash-cam footage, to come forward and help trace the vehicle and person involved.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting "incident 2073 of December 7".
