The Inverness Courier today hosted the Highland Wedding Fair for the first time in two years. The event saw 37 businesses and over 300 guests in attendance.

The fair is hosted twice a year, in February and October. This year it was located at Inverness Leisure.

Coronavirus has halted efforts to put on the popular event in the previous year, however this year event organisers worked with the restrictions in place and made sure they were covid compliant, introducing capped numbers and covid passport checks.

The venue hosted 37 different vendors, ranging from hair accessories, cakes to drone specialists and several Highland based venues.

Drumossie Hotel, based in Inverness, offer a wide range of bridal packages that cater to all size wedding parties and include three or four course meals. The grounds of their hotel are especially nice for wedding photos.

It was a great atmosphere, and the room was buzzing with brides to be as they looked over all that was on offer.

There were two fashion shows which showed off dresses from With This Dress, and hair and make-up by Rococo Studios. The flowers were supplied by Fiona's Flowers and Alexandra Bespoke supplied the ornate hair accessories. KBE Event Services team up with Rococo studios to put on the shows, who provided a brilliant range of music, technology equipment and lighting. The blossom trees and LED lights were provided by Dream Events by Sarah.

The dresses cater to all sizes, and there were may different styles to choose from - lace corsets, dainty straps, and flouncy shoulders! Each model had a wonderful and unique hairstyle done by the ladies at Rococo.

Rococo are an Inverness based salon who specialise in Bridal hair and make-up. They offer several different packages and have a skin clinic for brides who want that little bit of extra pampering!

The event also hosted a giveaway. One lucky winner received a 'one million dollar facial' from Rococo Studios, £200 off a dress at With This Dress, and a £200 voucher for accessories at Alexandra Bespoke.

Darrell Paterson, business development manager, who organised the event said: "It's one of our staple events, we have been doing it for a number of years. We are the largest wedding event in the Highland region and a lot of the wedding suppliers are thrilled that we have been able to hold it.

"We are really pleased with the new venue, and it means the world that we can start bringing events back.

"Thank you to the public for trusting us to be putting on the event and for attending. Thank you to the suppliers for working with us during this difficult time and a huge thank you to the fashion show hosts for creating very popular events. To see ticket registrations still filter through throughout the afternoon has been great as well."
