THE ‘spirit of the Highlands’ will help inspire displays in the newly-transformed Inverness Castle when it finally opens as a visitor centre – and the public’s stories are being sought.

High Life Highland wants people to say what sums up the ‘spirit of the Highlands’ for them – be it the land, the people or something else.

Its Spirit of the Highlands project is inviting people to contribute a story about what sums that up them.

A short video, available at www.spiritofthehighlands.com gives more details, featuring participants from across the region, including Inverness-shire residents Julie Fowlis, Megan Keith, Coca Tenorio and Tony Henry. The public’s stories will form the basis of online content and will be interpreted within the castle’s visitor attraction. They will help attract visitors and help them plan a trip.

Fiona Hampton, project director, said: “These stories will be shared with the world, encouraging people to get to know this unique part of Scotland.”
