The annual Christmas Carol Concert of the Highland Hospitals’ Choir and junior choir of Central Primary School has been cancelled due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

However the choirs are fully intending to return to the stage on December 5, 2021 when they will perform at the Drumossie Hotel.

Concert committee chairman David Dean said: “Very sadly the decision for 2020 could have gone no other way.

“We have consulted widely among choir members, audience and committee. All are agreed that, in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic, we have to give this year a miss.

“That said, we all are thinking hard on just how to put together a reduced donation towards the continuing work in the Highlands and Islands of the charity the concerts have supported for over 40 years – CLIC Sargent: Young Lives Vs Cancer.

“We would very much welcome suggestions from the public, our concert patrons and the 60-plus choir members.”
