Shannon, who also works as customer success specialist at Highland News and Media, made the top-five placement for the same category in 2023 - as well as earning a bronze award for Best Newcomer Presenter the same year.
She said: "The nomination wouldn't have happened without the amazing work all our volunteers do at Highland Hospital Radio.
“I’m very proud to shout about the shows and support we provide to patients, charities, and listeners across the NHS Highland area.
"I hope the shows I present provide people with a voice when they need it the most. I know I have been grateful as a listener to have that feeling of being heard."
Shannon, who has been a volunteer at the radio for five years, hosts The Favourites Mix on Thursday evenings and supports both Thursday's Live at 8 and the Saturday Drop-In programs.
Her dedication to radio remains strong despite challenges in the local media industry.
"I’d love this to be my job,” she said.
“The news last year about MFR was a blow to the community, but that hasn’t put me off at all."
“I want to put in 100 per cent into my shows. Karen Ross and Tom Nelson (Secretary and Chair at HHR) have been a massive support with my work in radio. Ben (Shannon’s boyfriend) has been very patient with me and reminds me to get some fresh air!”
The station recently celebrated a milestone with a fresh image reflecting the area they broadcast to, and doubling their annual listening hours to 33,000 — a testament to the team's commitment to enriching the listener experience.
Winners of the HBA Awards will be announced on April 5 during the organisation's annual conference.
A Highland Hospital Radio spokesperson said the station is rallying behind Shannon as she continues to make waves in the broadcasting world.
