Highland Hospice was turned yellow for the day.

Even coronavirus could not stop prevent the success of an Highland Hospice's fundraiser.

The hospice was overwhelmed by the response to its annual Wear Yellow Day fundraising event.

A programme of activities helped mark the day last Friday, helping generate at least £5000.

Highlights included Highland Voices Choir recording a version of Coldplay’s Yellow and Claire Darcy, from TFX Performing Academy, choreographing a dance routine to the song Walking on Sunshine.

“We raised £5000 on the day with more still coming in, especially via our text donate number which was a great hit,” said a hospice spokeswoman.

“We are absolutely overwhelmed – it really felt amazing to see the variety and range of individuals, businesses and schools getting behind us.

“Thanks so much to absolutely everyone who wore yellow and had some fun for Highland Hospice.”

Limelight Event Services marked the occasion by bathing the hospice building in yellow light last Thursday night.

To donate, text WEARYELLOW 5 to 70085.
