Highland Hospice staff are at the ready for their 24 hour relay run.

A group of 25 members of staff at Highland Hospice will be clocking up the miles when they tackle a 24-hour running challenge.

They will each run for an hour starting at 7pm on August 14, all the way through until 7pm the following day.

The marathon effort was the idea of hospice charge nurse Catherine Ross who initially set a fundraising target of £1000 – which they have already smashed as the total currently stands at around £1800.

She said: “This is a challenging time for Highland Hospice as the situation with Covid-19 has obviously affected our fundraising potential.

“I see first-hand the care our patients and their families require, and so thought of this challenge that staff could get behind – and 25 people are better than one.

“I was honestly amazed by the response.

Who knew so many of our staff, from all departments, would be keen to run for an hour?

“We are all passionate about the care the

hospice delivers and looking forward to the challenge. Any support will be most gratefully appreciated.”

Donations of £5 can be made by texting TEAMHH to 70085, texts cost £5 plus one standard rate message, or there is an online fundraising page here
