Speaking about why she has decided to take on this mammoth challenge, Gillian said: “I feel very passionate about supporting our fundraising team as a nurse at the Hospice because without the support of the very generous Highland community the clinical team would not be able to provide all the services we offer under the umbrella of the Highland Hospice.

“As nurses we receive lots of gifts and praise for our care delivery but I believe the fundraising team and the fundraisers out in the community are the unsung heroes of the Hospice and I am so very grateful for all the trekkers, marathon runners, cake sale bakers, bungie jumpers and all the people who go out of their way to raise funds for our precious local Hospice.
