Highland hoedown promised with new country music festival set for Inverness

A new music festival is coming to Inverness next autumn.

The Northern Star Country Music Festival is set to be staged at the Northern Meeting Park on September 6.

It is understood the organisers are experienced festival promoters who are already involved in other local high-profile annual music events.

A line-up of live music acts for the new festival - dubbed a grand ole Highland hoedown - will be announced soon, although sources say the first headliner is already signed up.

Other attractions are set to include line dancing, country karaoke, ‘duelling’ bucking broncos, ‘cactus toss’ and a contest for the best dressed cowboy and cowgirl.
