Highland drivers warned on A9 Perth to Inverness route closure in Perthshire

Highland motorists are being warned that a road accident has forced the closure of the A9 in both directions in Perthshire.

The accident between Killiecrankie and Calvine was reported at 2.12pm today

With lengthy tailbacks in both the northbound and southbound directions, drivers are being advised to avoid the area where possible and approach the vicinity with caution.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 2pm on Friday, 20 September, 2024 we were called to reports of a two-vehicle collision on the A9 near Calvine.

"Emergency services are in attendance and the road is currently closed."

A spokesman for Traffic Scotland said: “The A9 north of Calvine is closed in both directions due to a road traffic accident, road users are advised to use an alternative route and expect longer than normal journey times.
