Highland Council switched off the Christmas lights in the region yesterday and staff will be taking them down during this week.

A spokesman said the delay in switching them off was due to staff shortages affected by Covid and other street lighting faults which took priority.

He added: "We can now start taking them down this week. It takes a few weeks to take down across the area."
