Highland Council Election: Aird and Loch Ness declares as human rights lawyer and another Green is elected replacing former council leader and Inverness Provost

Helen Crawford, Scottish Conservative and Unionist – 1099

David Fraser, Independent – 1182

Emma Knox SNP – 1364

Holly Kingham, Scottish Liberal Democrats

Michael Perera, Scottish Labour Party

Main Issues: mass tourism, renewable energy, potholes, housing, education

Conservative Helen Crawford, a lawyer who worked for the Foreign Office, and Chris Ballance, the Highland Green co-convenor have been elected to represent Ward 12.

They join two incumbents Emma Knox of the SNP and the Independent David Fraser.

The final tallies given represent the first preference votes before the Single Transferable Vote System calculations are made.
