High Life Highland is to set up a special group to monitor coronavirus situation
Leisure provider High Life Highland is to set up a special group to monitor the coronavirus situation around the infection.
Bosses have taken the precaution because the organisation employs more than 700 staff and runs a huge network of libraries, sports centres, swimming pools and other public venues.
A spokesman for the organisation said the group would “hold regular meetings to discuss any potential impacts on our operations and how we can best ensure customers are able to continue using our facilities”.
He added: “High Life Highland has been following national guidelines for COVID-19 [coronavirus] as laid out by the chief medical officer and the Scottish Government.
“The NHS and Scottish Government toolkit has been circulated to staff managing facilities for onward distribution to staff including information posters for display on staff and public noticeboards.
“An executive team meeting earlier today decided to set up a group to monitor COVID-19 and hold regular meetings to discuss any potential impacts on our operations and how we can best ensure customers are able to continue using our facilities.”
