A husband who pushed his wife has had sentence against him deferred at Inverness Sheriff Court.

John Logan (55), of Easter Hardmuir, Nairn, appeared at court from custody and admitted the assault in the couple’s home last Wednesday.

The court heard that the pair still lived together for financial reasons after a split.

Fiscal depute Martina Eastwood said there was an argument, and “he pushed his wife on the shoulders and she fell backwards, hitting her head on a nest of tables and bruising her arm.”

Sentence on Logan was deferred until December 16.

He was told that if he did not re-offend meantime he would be dealt with leniently on that date.
