It was previously home to botanical artist Elizabeth Cameron (1915-2008) who studied at the Slade Art School and St. Johns Wood Art School, exhibiting her artwork at The Royal Scottish Academy in 1939.
Inspired by her own garden at Allangrange, she began to paint flowers in watercolour and was later recognised by The Royal Horticultural Society and exhibited in London and the USA. Her painting of a Humanity Rose raised millions for the Red Cross and brought her their badge of honour for distinguished service.
The estate boasts equestrian facilities, fenced paddocks and stable blocks as well as a detached “substantial multi-car garage” with upper level entertainment room.
The property boasts a gatekeeper’s lodge, three Edwardian stables cottages, a shoot bothy and a trout fishing loch and lodge as well as forestry, gardens and helipad access.
Would-be buyers are told the property sits two miles away from the welcoming village of Munlochy and a short commute from Inverness and its airport with international connections.
The particulars say “the main school in the area” is Gordonstoun with its educational boarding facilities for pupils aged 8 to 18.
Prospective owners are told the Black Isle is well known for the quality of its agricultural land and that the property is within easy reach of stunning beaches, nature reserves and some of the best golf links courses in Scotland.
It is being marketed by the Wilson Property Group in Edinburgh with a guide price of £5.2million.
A mortgage calculator included with the details indicates that a 25-year mortgage with a £520,000 deposit would equate to monthly repayments of £28,739.
