Help ease pressure in NHS Highland's health and social care services as they experience unprecedented levels of demand over the past week – accident and Emergency (A&E) department at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness also very busy at the moment with patients facing lengthy waiting times

Health and social care services from NHS Highland have been under unprecedented levels of demand over the past week.

Residents are being asked to help reduce waiting times and care for people who need it most quickly by using alternative services.

A spokesman said: “Services across Raigmore Hospital are under significant pressure at the moment and it is a challenging situation for all.

“Our Accident and Emergency (A&E) department at Raigmore Hospital is also very busy at the moment and you may face lengthy waiting times.

“We are working incredibly hard to provide the best possible care for people, and thank you for understanding.

“You can help us reduce If you have an injury or ailment that is not life threatening, call NHS 24 on 111.

“This will tell you the best way to get help, which could include a phone appointment, trip to a minor injury clinic, or prescription issued to your local pharmacy.”

Patients are still advised to all 999 or attend A&E for life-threatening emergencies.
