An operations manager was shocked when he overheard his partner's telephone conversation after they had been drinking and angrily smashed her mobile.
Inverness Sheriff Court was told that 51-year-old Kenneth McGougan, of Inverness, had gone to bed on July 13 but when he listened to her call, he got up, grabbed the phone off the woman and smashed it off the floor.

McGougan admitted maliciously damaging the device and was fined £335.
