WAS the coronavirus crisis ever going to defeat the library wizards behind a string of successful Harry Potter-themed events on the Black Isle?

Of course it wasn’t – the power of Potter is way stronger than that!

Fortrose and Cromarty Libraries have in recent years delighted young fans of the JK Rowling blockbusters with themed indoor events to allow them to indulge their love of the classic characters and meet like-minded enthusiasts who share, first and foremost, a love of reading and all things Potter-related.

A rethink on this year’s plans, bearing in mind coronavirus restrictions that were still in place, came up with the magic idea of an outdoor scavenger hunt.

Network librarian for Fortrose and Cromarty, Sya Bruce, said: “We had adults and children take part across Avoch, Fortrose, Rosemarkie and Cromarty and despite the rainy weather they all proved themselves worthy of a place at Hogwarts!”
