For the last few months, the team has been fundraising extremely hard and aims to reach a final tally of £175,000 for the end-of-life care charity.

Highland Hospice fundraiser and trek member Emma Nicol said “We’ve just hit the target of £125,000 and aim to raise another £50k for the challenge.

“Events that have taken place have included anything from bingo evenings to bag-packing, to bake sales and afternoon teas. We also launched the fundraising appeal with the China Ball which took place in March of this year.”

Bus operator Stagecoach’s help in providing transport and covering fuel costs has ensured the group will be able to travel together throughout the event.

Emma added: “We are extremely grateful to Stagecoach for providing us with transport at both ends of the trek.”
