Fire crews are battling a large gorse fire at Fort George near Inverness.

The alarm was raised at 1.35pm and they arrived at the scene by 2pm.

Two fire appliances, as well as an all terrain vehicle and a water carrier, were sent to the incident.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said the fire involved an area of gorse and whins grass and a number of fire service volunteers were also at the scene.

She added they were still in attendance and were using beaters to put out the flames.
