Highland Fling organiser Gerry Reynolds answers frequently asked questions ahead of one of Inverness' biggest annual events this Hogmanay.

Now firmly established as one of the UK's top New Year's Eve favourite experiences, the event is hosted by red hot comedian Craig Hill with a show featuring Skipinnish, Dorec-a-belle and Torridon.

How much does it cost to get in?

The Red Hot Highland Fling is FREE.

Do I need tickets for the Red Hot Highland Fling?

No.

Can I bring alcohol and food on site?

No.

Can I bring my dog on site?

Well behaved dogs are always welcome, but we would like them back home well before the fireworks at midnight.

Are children welcome?

Absolutely.

What time does the show start?

8.30pm.

What time do the gates open?

8pm.

What time does the show end?

12.30am.

Is there parking for Blue Badge Holders?

Yes - it is located at the front of the Highland Council HQ.

Is there general parking?

No - we use the HQ car park for the show.

Will there be bag searches on arrival?

Yes.

Will there be people searches on arrival?

Yes.

Can I buy hot food there?

Yes.

Can I buy alcohol there?

Yes.

Is there a Disabled viewing area?

Yes.

Will Infirmary Bridge be closed?

Yes from 11.30pm until 1am. Thanks in advance for your help.

How much of my council tax is being spent on this show?

Nothing, it is sponsored by the Inverness Common Good Fund.

Can I take pictures and videos of the show?

Yes.

Is there an official Twitter account?

Yes - you can find us at hashtag #irhhf.

Is there First Aid on site?

Yes. This is the last show that our friends at the British Red Cross will be attending, as they will no longer be providing this service, and we want you to show them some love

Why isn't the show live on TV?

We have a theory that it is too exciting, but we could be wrong.

Does it help if we buy official merchandise?

More than you will ever know.

How much are Thrifty 50 Tickets?

One whole pound.

How much will the prize be?

The more who play – the more we'll pay.

Have you found the winner of the Proud Ness draw?

Nope – ticket number 12 is still out there.

Where will I find the winning number?

We will put on Facebook, Twitter, in our press releases and on the Highland Games, Highland Council and Inverness Festivals websites.
