Glen Urquhart Health Walk Group is inviting people to join them for a taster health walk at Balnain tomorrow to mark its third anniversary.

It was formed to improve the health and wellbeing of its residents with group walks led by trained volunteers in and around Glen Urquhart and Drumnadrochit every Tuesday.

Several of the walk leaders have also been trained to support individuals living with dementia.

The walks usually last around an hour and take into consideration individuals’ abilities.

Organiser Carol Masheter said: "Even if you haven’t walked for some time this group will soon build up your confidence. For more able walkers it gives you the opportunity to enjoy the company of others and end with a cup of tea and a chat.

"Walking is such an accessible form of exercise and being outdoors, means health walks can provide so many benefits to our wellbeing.

"The walks are also about socialising, making new friends, learning about your natural environment and local area while out enjoying a stroll."
