Funeral announced for 'amazing dad' – a Nairnshire ground worker who died following a motorbike accident on A82

A motorbike enthusiast from Nairn who died following a road accident is to be laid to rest next week.

51-year-old Andrew "Andy" McDiarmid died following a road accident on Tuesday June 29, his private family funeral will take place on Monday July 12.

Mr McDiarmid was a goundworks ganger for Global Construction.

In a tribute from the family, placed by Inverness funeral director John Fraser and Son, they said: "Dearly loved husband of Karen, amazing dad of Daniel and Bryony, doting granda of Riley.

"A much loved son, son-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend to many.

"Funeral service on Monday July 12 at 12 noon in the Funeral Home of John Fraser & Son of Chapel Street, Inverness, by invitation only under current government restrictions."

The family have asked anyone invited to attend the funeral, to wear what is comfortable rather than follow a traditional dress code.

The family have also asked anyone who would like to join the funeral online, to join a livestream that will be available via www.johnfraserandson.com/live-services , on the day of funeral.

The family then have asked for privacy for the cremation, which is private for immediate family only.

While the family have asked for family flowers only, they said donations in memory of Mr McDiarmid can be made to Highland And Islands Blood Bikes and Highland Hospice.
