Rocketing fuel prices in Inverness finally break the 200p a litre mark as squeeze on cost of living tightens

Motorists in the Highland capital are having to shell out more than 200p a litre of diesel.

The BP garage on Longman road was at 203p this afternoon.

Regular unleaded was also on the rise at 192.5 at the garage.

Fuel prices started rising noticeably following Russia's invasion of Ukraine earlier this year.

The war between the two sparked fears of an energy crisis.

More recently petrol retailers have been criticised for not dropping forecourt prices following wholesale cost cuts.
