Fraudsters are trying to pass fake £50 notes in the Highlands, police have warned.
Officers have urged the public and businesses to be wary after reports of fake £50 Bank of England notes being used in the Ardersier area recently.
They have warned people to be on the lookout, as further incidents are possible.
A spokesperson for the police said: “We've had a report of counterfeit £50 Bank of England notes being used in Arderseir recently.
“Scammers often target multiple premises in an area at or around the same time, so we urge businesses to be extra vigilant.
“Make sure you check notes, and if you are unsure if the note is genuine then refuse to accept it and request a different method of payment. Report any suspicious transactions to us via 101.”
