Fourteen new positive tests for Covid-19 in NHS Highland area

The NHS Highland region's cumulative number of confirmed coronavirus infections since the start of the pandemic has risen from 1254 to 1268.

There were 1118 positive tests across Scotland in the past 24 hours.

Some 1198 people were receiving treatment in hospital last night for Covid-19 – 30 fewer than the previous day.

Of those, 92 people were in intensive care, a fall of four since yesterday.

A further 36 people who were diagnosed with the coronavirus have since died.

Elsewhere in the north of Scotland NHS Grampian reported a further 75 positive tests, for a cumulative total of 3885.

Scotland has now detected 80,135 Covid-19 cases since the start of the pandemic.
